RECORDING SESSION #8

​Myself, Jason Valleau, and Aaron Young. We’re back at it again today recording the last two songs for the new record.

These were tricky songs for me, which is why I left them to the end. Tricky because I find the guitar parts quite in intricate for my level of playing. The song new guy in town has a ragtime feel with a lot of seven chords. The song also modulates twice.

The other song called edge of nowhere is also tricky because of its guitar part, but it’s also tricky because I didn’t actually finish writing it until last night. 

I could tell there was something missing in the song and I knew I had to write one last verse for it. 

Tomorrow tomorrow’s the last day for tracking. I have Bruce Hoffman coming in to play pedal steel. It’s my favourite instrument and I can’t wait to hear it on my songs.
