FRUSTRATIONS

Being an independent artist comes with it's frustrations.  For me the biggest one is keeping up with my online presence.  Updating my website, my EPK, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube is time consuming as hell and I don't even have TikTok, X, snapchat or any of the other platforms out there that so many other artists are on.

There is such pressure to continually be creating new content. I can't help but think that for every minute I'm updating social media or editing a video, I could be getting better at guitar playing or writing a song.  Aren't I supposed to be a musician not a social media content creator?  The truth is that unless you can hire someone to do it for you, Yes! You are gonna be spending time creating content.

It's been a tough day.  I haven't touched my guitar once and I can see the sun starting to set. I spent the day researching how to automatically post this blog onto all my social media sites and my website.  let's just say I was not successful.

When I have days like this, I look at photos like the one below and try to remember that the pay off is that I get to spend my life doing something I love, playing for people.
